City National Bank has long been committed to supporting economic development in the communities it serves. An important part of that commitment is broadening the diversity of its product and service providers and, in the process, helping all companies, including those that are women- and minority-owned, expand their businesses.
Vendor Opportunities
City National procures a wide variety of products and services including but not limited to:
- Advertising
- Data processing
- Information services
- Marketing
- Messenger/delivery services
- Office supplies/equipment
- Printing/publishing
- Recruitment and temporary staffing
Vendor Qualifications
Vendors interested in participating in the bank’s Supplier Diversity Program should first register with the bank's Community Reinvestment Department. The registration form can be completed online using “The Next Step” link provided at the top of this page.
Diversity Vendors
If an individual registers as the owner of a diversity supplier – minority-, woman- or physically challenged-owned business – the vendor must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or have legal resident status;
- Own at least 51% of the business;
- Be involved in day-to-day management and operational decisions; and
- Be located in the United States or its trust territories.
Diversity suppliers will be required to provide proof of certification by an authorized Community Development Financial Institution or be recognized by a national organization such as:
National Minority Supplier Development Council
1040 Avenue of the Americas, Second Floor
New York, NY 10018
Women's Business Enterprise National Council
1120 Connecticut Ave., NW, Suite 950
Washington, DC 20036
The Process
- Vendors must submit their registration online.
- Prospective suppliers will receive a response from City National within 60 days via e-mail or telephone.
- The bank may request additional information or a personal interview.
- Prospective vendors will be evaluated on the basis of experience, quality of service/delivery, and competitive pricing.
- Firms will be informed of potential opportunities once their applications have been accepted. Engagement decisions, however, will be made by the appropriate purchasing coordinator in each company department or division.
