Ashok (Ash) Israni is founder, president and CEO of Pacifica Companies, which consists of numerous corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies that own a large diversified pool of real estate assets valued at more than $2 billion.

Headquartered in San Diego, Calif., Pacifica Companies employs more than 2,400 people at various locations across the country and has overseas offices in Ahmadabad and Bangalore, India. Among the company’s real estate assets are hotels, office and industrial buildings, retail shopping centers, apartment projects and single-family developments.

Mr. Israni began his real estate career buying and selling residential properties in California in 1978, and formed Pacifica Companies shortly thereafter. Twenty-five years later, in 2003, Pacifica was ranked the No. 2 homebuilder in San Diego (as reported by San Diego Metropolitan Magazine) and rose to No. 1 in the first quarter of 2005.

His company’s tremendous growth and success are the result of an unwavering commitment to a simple business strategy and management philosophy: create value by developing and repositioning undervalued real estate.

In addition to his position with Pacifica Companies, Mr. Israni serves on the board of directors of City National Corporation and also on the Board of Advisors at the University of San Diego, School of Business Administration.

He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
