Kevin Dunigan is executive vice president and head of City National Bank’s Core Banking Division, which consists of all 72 of the bank’s branch offices in California and Nevada as well as the Business Banking group. He is responsible for the strategic direction, business development and client service for the bank’s Small Business and Preferred Banking lines of business. Mr. Dunigan leads a team of more than 500 colleagues, which also includes the Small Business Administration Department. Mr. Dunigan, who joined the company in 1999, is a member of the bank’s Executive Committee.
He also serves as Regional Executive for Orange County. In that capacity, he is responsible for coordinating the bank’s client service, business development, marketing, and expansion efforts across all lines of business.
Prior to joining City National, Mr. Dunigan was director of retail banking at H.F. Ahmanson & Company, managing Home Savings of America’s Southern California branch franchise. During his tenure there, Mr. Dunigan also served as assistant to the chairman, Charles Rinehart, and as director of retail marketing.
Before that, Mr. Dunigan was chief marketing officer for HomeFed Bank in San Diego, and was responsible for product management, consumer research, advertising, and public and investor relations.
Mr. Dunigan also worked for Carnation/Nestle for six years, and in his role as group product manager ran national brands such as Coffeemate, Carnation Hot Cocoa Mix and Friskies Buffet in the beverage and pet food categories. He began his professional career with Continental Bank in Chicago, holding management positions in the commercial banking and marketing divisions.
Active in the community, Mr. Dunigan serves on the board of the Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University in Orange County. He also is very involved in youth development through his various leadership positions in the Orange County area.
Mr. Dunigan earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota.
