Robert Iritani is executive vice president and manager of City National Bank’s Specialty Banking Division. He assumed his current position in July 2006.

Mr. Iritani oversees a team of 60 banking professionals in the bank’s Corporate Banking, International Banking, Global Markets, Agribusiness, Franchise Finance and Municipal Finance departments. Under his leadership, Specialty Banking has become one of the bank’s most successful divisions.

He is a member of the bank’s Executive and CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) Investment committees. He also is co-chair of the bank’s Asian American Caucus, which is focused on expanding City National’s market share in that segment.

Mr. Iritani has used his diverse banking experience to help middle-market and Fortune 500 companies develop strategies and manage their balance sheets. His expertise includes asset-based lending; commercial, corporate and international banking; energy and entertainment industry lending; mergers and acquisitions; private banking; structured finance; equipment leasing; and credit card financing. He began his banking career in 1980.

He joined City National in 1998 as senior vice president and manager of the bank’s Corporate Banking department, which he founded. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president and commercial banking team leader at Sumitomo Bank of California.

During his seven years at Wells Fargo Bank, he served in a variety of corporate, commercial and entertainment lending positions. As senior vice president in charge of that bank’s East Coast division, he managed a $6 billion portfolio concentrated primarily in mergers and acquisitions-related financing.

At Union Bank of California, he held commercial banking, private banking and leasing positions in West Los Angeles and the South Bay following completion of that bank’s executive management training program.

Mr. Iritani is a board member of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, and a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy and the Bankers Association for Finance and Trade.

A resident of Orange County, he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Colorado.
